Cabbage and Moong Dal
Ingredients
2 cups chopped
cabbage
1/3 cup soaked
yellow moong dal (split yellow gram)
1/2 tsp mustard
seeds)
2 to 3 curry
leaves
1/4 tsp
asafoetida
1 tsp chopped
green chillies
3 tbsp chopped
coriander
1 tbsp grated
coconut
1 tsp sugar
(optional)
1 tsp lemon
juice
salt to taste
First , wash
and drain the soaked moong dal and keep aside.
Second, heat
the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds. When the seeds crackle, add the
curry leaves, asafoetida and green chilli and saute for few seconds.
Third add the
cabbage, moong dal and salt, mix well and sauté over a high flame for 2 to 3
minutes or till the dal softens a little.
Transfer into a
bowl and when it cools slightly, add the coriander, coconut, sugar and lemon
juice and mix well.
Serve chilled
or at room temperature.
